ABOUT THE WORK:

Gamsız had struggling years at the conservatory in Istanbul as a piano student; being indecisive about going back to being an athlete or going forward as a pianist. This piece was a reflection of his thoughts about his childhood as an athlete. He was discovering another masterpiece each and every day. Handel's Allegro, from his Water Music Suite was one of those. He was inspired by the romanticism in this music in a major key, and started to think about how major and minor keys were perceived by the Turkish society. Once upon a time alternates the major and minor modes throughout the music, and it's dedicated to his family.
